Daniel Fast 2017


Fasting Instructions (Daniel 1:12 & 10:2-3)
October 16 to November 5, 2017 

1. You may eat at your normal meal times but observe the restrictions below, OR you may abstain from food all through the day and break your fast in the evening with the same restrictions.

2. Drink only water (a lot).
- You may mix health food supplement protein mix/green food
- No carbonated drinks, coffee, tea, eggs or dairy products
- Fruit smoothies, 100% juices, broth are okay

3. No meat, chicken or fish.

4. No white foods at all.

5. No fast food.

6. No fried foods.

7. No sugar.
- No dessert.

8. No bread, pasta, and rice.

9. No eating after 8.00 pm.

10. Limit television and recreational computer to less than 2 hours per day.

Suggested food to eat:
Lots of water (You may mix health food supplement, protein mix/green food), All Vegetables, Vegetable Juices, All fruits, Fruit smoothies, 100% Fruit Juices, Salads, Broth, All beans, All whole grains (oatmeal, oat bran, barley, wheat), Nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts).

Daily Fasting Scriptures and Prayer Points for The Daniel Fast
Read the recommended chapter for the day and meditate on the recommended verses for the day. Pray as the Spirit leads you, using the recommended chapter and verses. The following are suggested daily prayer points:

Day 1. Pray that as you are start this fast, you will finish well. As God answered Daniel, God will answer you and you will hear God.
Read: Daniel 10 (Whole Chapter). Meditate on: “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.” Daniel 10:2

Day 2. Pray for the grace to eat the vegetables, fruits and water for the duration of your fast, and the fruits, vegetables and water shall be of optimal benefit to your body and your appearance shall be better than it was before the fast.
Read: Daniel 1 (Whole Chapter). Meditate on: “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us
vegetables to eat and water to drink.” Daniel 1:12

Day 3. Make your personal request known unto your God with prayer, supplication, fasting and thanksgiving. Pray for divine
encounters and that nothing will shift your focus from Almighty God.
Read: Daniel 9 (Whole Chapter). Meditate on: “Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.” Daniel 9:3

Day 4. Pray that your fasting will not be unto men but a spiritual exercise which you do in secret and your Father in heaven will reward you openly and the glory of God will continually manifest in your life.
Read: Matthew 6 (Whole Chapter). Meditate on: “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. Matthew 6:16

Day 5. Pray for your church as you embark on this fast. Pray that the church will hear the call of God and cry out to the Lord for more souls to be saved through the various outreaches.
Read: Joel 1 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land Into the house of the LORD your God, And cry out to the LORD.” Joel 1:14

Day 6. Pray that your church will turn to God with all their heart, with fasting.
Read: Joel 2 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “‘Now, therefore,’ says the LORD, ‘Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.’” Joel 2:12

Day 7. Pray that your fast is acceptable in the sight of Almighty God.
Read: Isaiah 58 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the LORD?” Isaiah 58:5

Day 8. Pray for divine guidance and that the Lord will protect you and show the right way for you and your children. Include the members of your fasting congregation in the prayer. Pray that God will lead and guide each and every decision in your life and in your church.
Read: Ezra 8 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.” Ezra 8:21

Day 9. Thank God for what He has done for you on this fast and for what He is going to do. Worship Him for who He is.
Read: Ezra 9 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “At the evening sacrifice I arose from my fasting; and having torn my garment and my robe, I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to the LORD my God.” Ezra 9:5

Day 10. Pray for the whole body of Christ that the body of Christ will pray with fasting.
Read: Jonah 3 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.” Jonah 3:5

Day 11. Pray that the power that manifested in Jesus after His fast will manifest in you. The power to overcome the temptation of Satan will manifest in you. Pray for the increase of the manifestation of the power of God in your life and in your church.
Read: Luke 4 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.” Luke 4:14

Day 12. Pray that God will give you the grace and the strength to complete the period of the fast.
Read: 1 Kings 19 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.” 1 Kings 19:8

Day 13. Pray that you will receive complete divine instructions as you continue on this fast.
Read: Exodus 34 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.” Exodus 34:28

Day 14. Pray that you will serve God with fastings and prayers. Pray for the leaders of your church that God will continue to bless and prosper them.
Read: Luke 2 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “And this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.” Luke 2:37

Day 15. Pray for your church leadership that they will hear the voice of God in all the decisions being made for the church. Pray for the grace for the church leadership to obey the voice of God.
Read: Acts 13 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’” Acts 13:2

Day 16. Pray for the leadership of the church that the appointment of church leaders in every church will be after praying and fasting.
Read: Acts 14 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.” Acts 14:23

Day 17. The angel of the Lord will bring you divine revelation even in difficult times.
Read: Acts 27 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them  and said, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. ” Acts 27:21

Day 18. The personal request that you presented to the Lord during this fast will be answered in a miraculous way.
Read: Acts 10 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “So Cornelius said, ‘Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing’” Acts 10:30

Day 19. Pray for boldness to go into places where people don’t expect you to go but where God has ordained for you to go.
Read: Esther 4 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!” Esther 4:16

Day 20.Pray against fear, no matter how big the enemy appears to be. Pray for increase in healings and deliverances in the Body of Christ.
Read: 2 Chronicles 20 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.”  2 Chronicles 20:3

Day 21. Pray that this fast will be joy, gladness, cheerful to you and your household. The love, truth and peace of God will be manifested to you in abundance. Pray for the prosperity of your soul and prosperity in all areas of your life. Pray for abundant increase in you life. Pray for your household and your church.
Read: Zechariah 8 (Whole Chapter) Meditate on: “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘The fast of the fourth month, The fast of the fifth, The fast of the seventh, And the fast of the tenth, Shall be joy and gladness and cheerful feasts For the house of Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.’” Zechariah 8:19
